Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort

 Create, join, or sponsor an individual or team to hike the scenic summit of Snowbird's Hidden Peak at the Survivors at the Summit event this August. An inspirational event benefiting the Cancer Wellness House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free programs to those living with cancer and their family and friends.

A day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating courage and determination, Survivors at the Summit is an opportunity for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer and all those who have lost a loved one to cancer to come together for a day of outdoor adventure, entertainment and camaraderie.

 This hiking journey is a representation of the many challenges faced throughout the cancer experience and the triumphs experienced upon reaching a "personal summit" when living with cancer. Hikers trek in celebration of the spirit of determination, survivorship, inspiration and reverence of those living with cancer and those whose lives have been shortened by cancer.



Join the Celebration of Life ceremony at the top of Hidden Peak beginning at 12:30pm with a guest speakers, survivor tributes, musical numbers and celebration. Afterwards, enjoy a free tram ride down to the Snowbird Plaza.


sea of Survivors at the Summit commemorative flags will welcome hikers at the summit of Hidden Peak. Tribute flags honor loved ones who have faced the challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. These personalized flags are displayed atop the peak to meet hikers and fly proudly in the wind during the Celebration of Life ceremony. Personalized flags can be purchased for $20 on our website.


From 8:00am to 11:00am, volunteers team up with Snowbird's chefs to offer steaming plates of pancakes to hikers, tram-riders, sponsors, and other participants to fuel their journey to the top of the peak. Breakfast tickets can be purchased at the event for $4 per person.



From Downtown Salt Lake City, take 500 South west to 1-15 and head south. Exit at I-215 heading east. Get off at Exit 6 (6200 South) and go east on 6200 South, toward the mountains. This road will lead you straight to UT-210 and up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Snowbird.

From points south take 1-15 north to Exit 295 (9000 South). Turn right onto 9000 South. This street becomes 9400 South, which takes you to the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Go right on UT-210. It’s then about 6 miles up to Snowbird.

From Park City take UT-224 west and north to I-80. On I-80, head west toward the Salt Lake Valley. Take Exit 130 to I-215 South. Et off at Exit 6 (6200) and go east on 6200 South, toward the mountains. This road will lead you straight to UT-210 and up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Snowbird.

Parking is available at Snowbird Entry Level Two. Go towards the Snowbird Center and find the closest parking spot available. Handicap parking available.


Survivors at the Summit event, including registration, Pancakes on the Plaza, and the hiking trail starting line, will be at the Snowbird Center on the Plaza Level. Enter the Snowbird Center and take the elevator to Level Three and exit out to the Plaza (an outdoor large patio area).
