• about the House:

In 1996, we were brought together by a dream...to establish a program that would provide free resources to anyone affected by cancer. Since that time, our presence in the community has enhanced the lives of countless individuals affected by cancer.

The dream unfolded in 1997 with the dedication of the Cancer Wellness House flagship facility at 59 South 1100 East in Salt Lake City.

Since the September 1997 ribbon cutting, hundreds of children and adults have benefited from more than 50,000 program hours. In the comfort of a home-like setting, members have shared their experiences and have been supported by others walking a similar path. Thoughtful stewardship, sustained generosity, and personal dedication have brought this vital community resource to where it is today.

Since the Cancer Wellness House opened, we have renovated the house, as well as added a covered patio, studio space and a children's garden. Funding and in-kind donations are being solicited for phased expansion consistent with the residential and historical integrity of this neighborhood. During 2006-2007, a Children's Cottage is being added to address the needs of our young participants.

You are part of the dream. Our dedicatory prayer affirmed that everyone who enters that House blesses it. Everything that occurs at Cancer Wellness House is a reminder, reflection, symbol or example of caring. We appreciate your support and look forward to your continued involvement.
