Cancer Wellness House
Acupuncture is the technique of inserting thin needles through the skin at specific points on the body to control pain and other symptoms. A medical system that has been used for thousands of years to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. It is based on the belief that qi (the body's vital energy) flows along meridians (channels) in the body and keeps a person's spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health in balance. The National Cancer Institute states that “acupuncture is a part of traditional Chinese medicine used in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years. In patients with cancer, acupuncture is usually used to relieve symptoms, treat side effects of therapy, and improve quality of life. It may help the immune system work better, control nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, and relieve cancer pain. Acupuncture may treat weight loss, anxiety, depression, insomnia, poor appetite, and gastrointestinal symptoms (constipation and diarrhea).”
Acupuncture is scheduled by appointment only. Schedules will vary each month. Please check the calendar for a complete schedule and call us to set up appointments. Arrive in the waiting area at house #57 (the North house) for all acupuncture appointments.
