Cancer Wellness House Programs are for men, women and children living with cancer and their family and friends. All programs are provided FREE OF CHARGE.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW Emotional Support is provided through various support groups and Peer to Peer Networking which allows people affected by cancer to come tighter and explore the social and emotional issues they are facing. Members help each other learn to live more fully by sharing their wisdom and their own firsthand experiences with cancer. Mind & Body Workshops, including Wellness Writers, Gentle Yoga, Therapeutic Massage, and more, enhance our members' well being and promote self-discovery. Social Events, like our Holiday Parties and Survivors at the Summit, bring members and staff together and help further their sense of community. KIDS CLUB, held monthly on a Saturday, offers fun activities including arts and crafts, drama,games and more for children ages 5-11. Supervised by licensed professionals, Kids Club provides a safe environment for kids to share their feelings and build support. Every three months, kids participate in a Kids Retreat where they rour a cancer facility and visit a fun destination such as Red Butte Gardens or the Tracey Aviary. TEEN CLUB, held every 3rd Thursday of the month, this group for teens ages 13-18, offers a time for teens living with a loved one with cancer to socialize and share in their experiences. Activities include bowling, rock climbing, ice skating, pumpkin carving and more. Activities are supervised by social workers. |
