What is the purpose of the Cancer Wellness House?
Cancer Wellness House, the only program of its kind in the intermountain west, provides free resources for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer. A wide variety of free program offerings support individuals in their quest for recovery and enhance their quality of life, complementing conventional medical treatment. Its home-like setting provides a comfortable environment to meet with other experiencing similar circumstances.

Who may participate in Cancer Wellness House programs?
Anyone whose life has been affected by cancer is welcome to become a member of the Cancer Wellness House community. Current program offerings address the needs and interests of children (6-11 years old), teens (12-18 years old) and adults who have cancer or who have a family member of friend with cancer. One common characteristic of Cancer Wellness House members is their active involvement in their recovery.

When are Cancer Wellness House programs scheduled?
Hours of activities at the House vary, depending on what is on the calendar. However, you can usually find Cancer Wellness House staff volunteers and/or members here from 9:00am into the early evenings. Workshops, children's programs and special events are frequently scheduled on Saturdays. Cancer Wellness House members are welcome to use the House for private parties and meetings when rooms are available.

What does it cost to participate?
Nothing. Cancer Wellness House does not charge for any of its services. All components of the program are supported by tax-deductible contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, memorial gifts and special fundraising events.

What is the scope of the Cancer Wellness House program?
Recognizing that each person has been affected by cancer in a unique way, the Cancer Wellness House calendar of events offers a multitude of activities. These include:

· Kids Club and Teen Club, combining social and therapeutic activities for children (6-11 years old) and teens (12-18 years old) who have a parent or grandparent with cancer.

· Weekly and monthly Wellness and Network groups supporting people with cancer and their families and friends. Led by licensed facilitators.

· Physical wellbeing activities, such as yoga classes, meditation, massages, therapeutic touch, and more-- all free!

· Educational workshops and lectures conducted by healthcare professionals. People living with cancer have an opportunity to learn how to minimize the symptoms associated with cancer by taking part in these program offerings addressing cancer fatigue, pain management, managing financial and insurance issues, and more!

· Social events during which people affected by cancer can make friends and feel understood. Join us for our book club, outdoor club, family parties, and other social events.
