Cancer Wellness House
Get Connected. Find Support.
Mind & Body Wellness enhances one's ability for self-care by learning and incorporating new techniques into activities of daily living.
Activities include: acupuncture, massage, reiki, jin shin jyutsu, gentle yoga, exercise training, meditation and mindfulness, and optimal nutrition education.
Utah health care providers are ensuring quality cancer treatment through chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. However, a significant gap in service exists for integrative holistic medicine. The Cancer Wellness House meets this gap by delivering evidence-based programs including yoga, massage, acupuncture, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness meditation, spirituality, and child, family, individual, and group therapy. We focus on three areas of wellness; Emotional and Spiritual Support, Mind and Body Wellness, and Social and Community Connections.
Emotional & Spiritual Support provides an opportunity for participation in a forum that facilitates verbal expression, insight and interpersonal exploration with the cancer experience.
Activities include: wellness planning, individual, couples, and family counseling, open support groups for survivors and caregivers, and bereavement support groups.
Social & Community Connections provide opportunities for individuals and families to engage socially with others who share the common experiences of living with cancer. These activities help create a sense of community, increase the sharing of valuable information and decrease feelings of isolation.
Activities include: Club Well, respite care programs, wellness meet-ups with our executive director, epiphany project, a recreation-based support program for children and teens ages 8-17, and family socials.
